St. Kitts congratulates local Olympic athletes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (CUOPM) – Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said Kittitian Olympian Kim Collins established a national precedence by advancing to his second finals in consecutive Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
“The naming of the Kim Collins Pavilion in the newly built Silver Jubilee Athletic Stadium is living testimony to the high esteem in which Mr. Collins is being held,” said Dr. Douglas at a Press Conference on Wednesday.
Dr. Douglas, who is also Minister of Sports congratulated for his qualifying semi-finals and finals in the 100 meter and 200 meter races respectively.

He also congratulated on behalf of the entire country and thanked and extended best wishes to Tiandra Ponteen, Virgil Hodge and Meritzer Williams, “who represented us as ambassadors of our young people and ambassadors of our country as a whole in the area of sports.”
