Haiti vs. Panama in International friendly soccer match in the Orange Bowl

MIAMI – On Saturday March 24th, the Miami Orange Bowl Stadium will host a highly anticipated international friendly soccer match between Haiti and Panama.

This soccer match features both the current Caribbean Cup champion (Haiti) along with the current UNCAF vice champion (Panama). It is the first appearance for Haiti since winning the Caribbean Cup in Trinidad on January 24, 2007.

According to fifa.com, the win – a great upset of the formbook – was celebrated long into the night back in Port-au-Prince, and also by the pitch by the Haitian players in the Trinidadian capital. Team Haiti’s outstanding performance during this championship allowed them to be qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in June 2007.

Team Panama, Vice Champion of the 2007 UNCAF will also participate at this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Haiti-Panama game will be a great opportunity for both team members to strengthen their skills and practice for the upcoming June’s Gold Cup.

The Caribbean Champions have a busy and challenging year ahead of them. In May, they will play another international “A” friendly game in Miami. In June, the proud and hard working champs will face the top teams of the Caribbean and Central America in the USA for the Gold Cup.

The scheduled September 8th Haiti-Costa Rica game will mark the first meeting of the 2007 Caribbean Cup Champions vs. the 2007 UNCAF Champions.

With a newly dose of confidence acquired from winning the 2007 Caribbean Cup Title, and with their ever hunger for success we have no doubt that team Haiti will one more come out victorious at the 2007 CONCAFAF, and further down the road find themselves playing against the best at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in Africa.
