Stage Set For Curry Cook Off
West Palm Beach Florida – Laparkan Shipping is among the sponsors of the annual Curry Cook Off competition to be held this weekend in Lake Worth, Florida. Organizers of the event, the Trinidad and Tobago Citizens Association of Palm Beach say the stage is set for a day of fun which will feature more than a dozen entries along with cultural performances including Indian dancing, tassa drumming, steelband and soca music.
Laparkan Shipping will have a tent at the event offering promotional giveaways and information on shipping to the Caribbean via its ocean, air and express cargo services. The first runner up in the competition will win a cash prize donated by Laparkan.
The event, to be held at the Phi Kappa Delta Club in Lake Worth, Florida, will kick off at 12 noon. A number of elected officials as well as representatives of the CARICOM Consular Corps are expected to be in attendance.
Admission to the event is free of cost and is one which entire families including children can attend.
Christine Blair of Laparkan’s West Palm Beach office says the shipping company is pleased to be associated with the event for the second year since it is a perfect opportunity for bringing together the Caribbean American community in West Palm Beach and neighboring cities while at the same time “sharing our rich and diverse Caribbean culture with the wider society.”
