WestJet launches service to Antigua and Barbuda, Curaçao and Costa Rica

CALGARY – WestJet will launch non-stop seasonal service to three new exciting sun destinations today and tomorrow (Oct. 28 and 29), plus a fourth in mid-November, offering Canadian travellers even greater choices via Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Today (Oct 28), WestJet will inaugurate twice-weekly service between Toronto Pearson and Antigua and Barbuda’s V.C. Bird International Airport. The first flight departs Toronto Pearson at 9:20 a.m. EDT. Also today, WestJet launches weekly service to Curaçao International Airport with the departure of the inaugural flight at 9:15 a.m. EDT.

Tomorrow (Oct. 29), WestJet commences twice-weekly non-stop seasonal service to Liberia, Costa Rica, with the departure of the first flight at 9:10 a.m. EDT.

And on November 16, 2012, WestJet will add daily non-stop seasonal service between Toronto Pearson and Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

“With the addition of three more sun destinations from Toronto Pearson today and tomorrow, plus another one two weeks from now, WestJet continues to expand service from Canada’s largest airport,” said Peter Tong, WestJet’s Director of Network and Schedule Planning. “We have almost doubled our service from Toronto Pearson to international destinations in just three short years, and have grown our overall service by almost one-third in the same period. Clearly, we remain focused on continued growth at a key Canadian gateway.”

“Seeing WestJet’s continued growth at Toronto Pearson is very encouraging,” said Howard Bohan, Vice President, Aviation Services for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “These additional destinations offer more choices for people looking to get away this winter.”
