Up-and-Coming Jamaican Artist collaborates with Hip-Hop Superstar on hot new single
MIAMI – Hot new reggae artist, Shifta, recently hit the studio with platinum-selling chart-topper, Flo Rida, to re-record Shifta’s hit single “Do It.”
Known for his hit songs “Elevator” featuring Timbaland and “In the Ayer” featuring will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida is an international hip-hop & pop superstar conquering the Billboard Hot 100 Charts in early 2008 for 10 straight weeks with his debut single, “Low” featuring T-Pain.
After hearing the original version of Shifta’s hit single “Do It,” which has been enjoying consistent rotation on top Miami radio stations, Flo Rida, a Miami native, knew that he wanted to collaborate on “Do It” with the talented young Jamaican.

Shifta & Flo Rida got together in Miami’s premiere studio, Circle House, owned by legendary reggae group, Inner Circle. The meeting resulted in Flo Rida laying down two verses on the new single, which Shifta is now gearing up to release.
Footage of Shifta and Flo Rida in the recording studio will soon be available via local Jamaican television stations and the Internet to whet the appetites of thousands of fans anxiously awaiting the singles release.
“It was a crazy experience to get in the studio with Flo Rida because he’s great at what he does,” says Shifta. “He’s a hit-maker and I definitely think that he added his unique flavor to the song.”
Aside from this new collaboration, Shifta has also been working on his debut album in Miami, attracting the attention of several major record labels in the U.S. In addition, Shifta has kept busy by performing, including a well-received performance during the 2008 Best of the Best Concert, the biggest reggae concert/festival in North America.
Shifta also has plans to host a promotional mix C.D. alongside his new recording partner, Flo Rida, to be released in the fall of 2008.
