Millions of reviews and opinions submitted to TripAdvisor.com by travellers around the world have resulted in the Turks and Caicos Islands receiving the coveted 2010 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for Best Beach and Sun Destination in the World.
The Travelers’ Choice Awards hosted by TripAdvisor, the most popular and largest travel community, honoured 576 best travel spots worldwide with the Turks and Caicos Islands coming out on top in the “Best Beach and Sun Destination” category. TripAdvisor has over 15 million registered members, more than 34 million monthly visitors and records 30 million traveller reviews and opinions.
Responding to the announcement by TripAdvisor, Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association’s (TCHTA) President Karen Whitt said “This is amazing news! Our destination is indeed magical, truly ‘Beautiful by Nature’ and we are honoured that our visitors took the time to submit their comments and opinions of our destination, which earned us such a prestigious distinction. We all promote the islands daily as being the best in the world but to have this validated by our visitors says so much about the islands’ tourism product. ”
