The Search Is On for the Next Green Goddess

FORT LAUDERDALE – The Miss Earth Jamaica Pageant is searching for Jamaica’s Next Green Goddess.

Organizers are on a mission to find the most beautiful woman to represent Jamaica at the third largest International Pageant, Miss Earth in Nha Trang, Vietnam. We are looking for motivated young women who will proudly represent Jamaica in fulfilling the ideals of the competition – while becoming an effective advocate for Mother Earth.

The Pageant is open to all young female between the ages of 18-26, who are unmarried, never given birth; minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches; possess beauty of face and proportionate body structure; outgoing and friendly; excellent physical condition; has knowledge of her country’s culture and environment; shall either have been born in Jamaica, be the child of a Jamaican parent, or is a naturalized citizen of Jamaica.

More than 90 contestants from various countries and territories will compete for the coveted title in November 2010, where Miss Earth 2009, Larissa Ramos of Brazil will crown her successor at the end of the event that will broadcast by VTV, ABS CBN and The Pilipino Chanel. The Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations.


In fulfilling the ideals of the competition “Beauties for a Cause” the young woman, who receives the prestigious title of Miss Earth Jamaica 2010, will become a Goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for Jamaica, as well as its environmental and tourism industries. She will work with environmental projects and educate Jamaicans on the three R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) which will ensure that the entire nation understands the need for greater responsibility in creating a sustainable future for us all.
