St. Kitts to host Caribbean Gift and Craft Show 2006

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts– The St. Kitts Tourism Authority today announces that the island of St. Kitts will host the annual Caribbean Gift and Craft Show (CGCS) 2006 this fall, from September 14-17, 2006. The event will be held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino.

The Caribbean Gift and Craft Show featuring Caribbean Fashion Rhythms, which is a project of the Caribbean Export Development Agency, will feature an extensive array of authentic Caribbean products including apparel, glassware, jewelry, woodcraft, leathercraft, specialty foods, art and more, all produced and handcrafted in the Caribbean.

The first two days will be dedicated to trade buyers, then the event will open to the general public from 5:00pm on the second day. The 4-day show will include a business seminar for all registered participants, an Opening Ceremony, an exotic evening of Caribbean fashion entitled “Creative Explosions” and the FirstCaribbean International Bank Best of Show Awards. Over 200 exhibitors from the Caribbean and at least 300 buyers from the US, UK, Canada and the Caribbean will be present this year.

In addition, it will bring hundreds of people to our twin island Federation and give us the opportunity to highlight the diversity and strength of our distinctive tourism product while at the same time providing a positive impact to our local economy.”
