St. Kitts and Nevis hails St. Lucia on Independence 33
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has sent congratulations to St. Lucia on that Caribbean nation’s Thirty-Third Anniversary of Independence.
“The theme selected ‘One People, One Nation, Limitless Possibilities’ is indeed appropriate and speaks to the accomplishments, unity and potential of the people of your distinguished Nation,” said Prime Minister Douglas in a congratulatory message to his St. Lucia counterpart, Dr. the Hon. Kenny Anthony.
Prime Minister Douglas told Dr. Anthony: “Even as you celebrate and reflect on your country’s past achievements since Independence, I am certain that you will pursue new strategies and innovations to grapple with the challenges we confront in this hostile global economic environment.”
Dr. Douglas expressed confidence that all St. Lucians will be steadfast in their resolve to play their individual and collective role in achieving the objective of this year’s theme.
St. Lucia became independent on February 22nd 1979.
