Spoken word Artist living her dream
This spoken word artist on the rise is compared to the breathe of Maya Angelou. It is no other than Kingston, Jamaican born artist, Josanne Hutchinson “aka” JoZanne Marie.
Jozanne Marie is an evangelist, poet and actress. She is also the writer, director and producer of the life changing play MORE THAN RUBIES and the upcoming Summer Musical “SPIT”. She is the founder of Promiseland a non-profit organization under the ministry of Gospel Crusades for all Nations. Promiseland is dedicated to reach women all over the world who have been abused providing emotional, spiritual and financial assistance. Jozanne is not just an artist but also a speaker who speaks at conferences, retreats and leads Bible Studies dealing with the spiritual growth, esteem and healing for women.
As an actress, Jozanne Marie was discovered by award winning Off Broadway director of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds her Chameleon Skin, Wilfredo Medina. Wilfredo Medina hired Jozanne Marie to star in star- studded cast of the touring ensemble Family Life Theater where she toured throughout New York City for over three years uplifting the youth through acting.
She later went on to perform in over a dozen theater projects on and off Broadway, such as No Exit, Vanities, Medea, Marisol, and Taming of the Shrew etc. She later moved out to California with $300 and her faith in God. This move gave her the opportunity to appear in many national commercials such as KIA, WEBmd, McDonalds, Wachovia Bank and Sprite (principal roles).
Her first feature film screen debut credit was in Antoine Fuqua’ TEARS of the SUN as a rape victim saved by (Cole Hauser) who ends up going on the terrifying journey to Cameroon with cast members (Bruce Willis, Monica Belluci and Akosua Bosua

As a dynamic spoken-word artist, Jozanne Marie is changing the world with words that provoke the human spirit to change. After ministering throughout the United States, this multi-dimensional spoken-word artist has made her mark from church-houses to coffeehouses. She anointed the mic for companies like Neutrogena, Sprite, Pan African Film Festival, Amassi Center, and Boss the Movement, Urban Graffiti, The Celebrity Center, West Angeles Church of God in Christ, Faithful Central, Nyuorican Cafe (NY), Godz Girlz Network (Atlanta, GA) the New York Comedy Club, Azusa Revival 2006, Caribbean Gospel Explosion 2008, Youth on the Move Conference 2008 and the list goes on.
Recently JoZanne Marie finished her first poetry album 14521 now available on Cdbaby.com. Jozanne and her husband Evangelist Anselm Idiga both fellowship and serve at Coast Christian Fellowship under Pastor Guy Takashima.
When asked about her accomplishments thus far she stated “the glory goes to the One and Only Jesus Christ. Without Jesus in my life, none of this would be possible. But most importantly my soul has been saved, Glory to God!
