South Florida’s Caribbean American Community Honors Their Own

SOUTH FLORIDA – South Florida’s  Caribbean American community and friends will come together on June 18, 2016 for the 2nd Annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards & Recognition Banquet & Gala at The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in honor of Caribbean American Heritage Month..

The Caribbean American Heritage Awards & Recognition Banquet & Gala will feature a red carpet arrival, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and entertainment provided by talented artistes, entertainers and musicians such as Virtuoso Yamin Mustafa who comes from a family of well known musicians and a surprise Special Guest to be announced soon.

The Banquet & Gala is one of the many events being held to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Caribbean American Heritage Month which is held June of each year. The public is invited to nominate deserving individuals who they feel have made significant and meaningful contributions to their local community and country.

Nomination forms are available for downloading at www.CAHMUSA.com, by email from [email protected] or by calling Elizabeth Burns at (954) 292-6848 or (954) 435-4717.   The closing of nominations has been extended to May 08, 2016. Awardees will be selected by a committee and announced prior to the event.

Awardees will be featured in the “Expressions” Caribbean American Magazine, a beautiful printed publication which is produced in conjunction with the events including the Caribbean American Heritage Exhibition & Festival on June 26, 2016 and also available online at www.CAHMUSA.com for viewing all year long.

Attendees will have a chance to win round trip tickets on JetBlue and prizes, gift baskets and giveaways from Publix Supermarkets.  These major long time supporters including South Florida Caribbean News, Miami Herald and many others are once again showing their support of the Caribbean Community and their appreciation for our business and customer loyalty.

CAHMUSA is the civic umbrella through which these Caribbean American Heritage Month events in South Florida are presented. The mission of CAHMUSA is to expand the knowledge and awareness of the rich cultural heritage of the people of the Caribbean region and their many significant contributions to the development and wellbeing of the USA.
