South Florida Jamaican wins USGA Women’s Amateur Title

MIAMI – Diane Lang, a Jamaican Realtor living in Weston, Florida, won the 2006 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur title on Thursday, October 12 at the Sea Island Golf Club, St. Simons Island in Georgia, making this her second consecutive win.

It is only the seventh time in the history of the 106th year Tournament that a golfer has achieved a consecutive win.

Diane won her title from a field of over 138 finalists from across the United States.

Commenting on her win, Mrs. Lang said, “This year’s win is even more satisfying since the matches were more difficult than last year’s and the level of play was very high.” She won the Tournament with a 1-up victory over Anna Schultz of Texas.
