South Florida based Kiwanis Club celebrates 11 years in the community

LAUDERDALE LAKES – The Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes will celebrate eleven years in the community at its Eleventh Annual Grand Charity Ball to be held on Saturday September 12, 2009. The black tie event will take place at the opulent Signature Grand, 6900 State Road 84, Davie, Florida.

The Annual Grand Charity Ball is the premier undertaking of the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes and since 1999 has resulted in the distribution of over $340,000 to various deserving charities including SOS Children’s Village; Susan B Anthony Home & Recovery Center, Caribbean Heart Menders’ Association, and our own Scholarship and Endowment Funds.

Club President Holly Burton in commenting on the current administrative year said, ‘Our goal for this year is to strive through our actions to be recognized as the “Heart of the Community” within the City of Lauderdale Lakes.’

Kiwanis International is a global organization of member-volunteers working to change the world one child and one community at a time through Kiwanis Club-sponsored activities and programs. Kiwanis comprises more than 600,000 adult and youth members in 70 nations and geographic areas that serve children and communities worldwide.
