FT. LAUDERDALE – Andy Ansola a staunch Carnival and Cultural advocate in South Florida has been invited to speak at the Calabar, International Carnival Festivals Conference in Nigeria.
Mr. Ansola is currently the President and CEO of Broward Caribbean Carnival Inc. (BCCI) has been involved with the production of Carnival in Broward County from inception. He has been involved in Carnival since 1992 when he relocated from New York.
Recently, Ansola was the visionary and guiding force behind the merger of BCCI and Miami Carnival Inc. (MCI) to form the Miami Broward One Carnival earlier this year.
The International Carnival Conference will feature exhibits from carnivals all over the world and selected guest speakers will present on various topics of interest.
The theme of the conference is ‘Carnivals and Festivals for Economic Transformation of Local Economies in Africa and around the world’ and it will be held from December 18-19, 2009 at The Metropolitan Hotel Calabar in Cross River State.

Mr. Ansola will present on ‘Multicultural Influences on South Florida Carnivals’. “Based on the letters of support that we received from very credible sources, Mr. Ansola is definitely the best person to present at the conference.
His knowledge, educational background, and enthusiasm on carnival and culture definitely speak mountains of his authority on the topic,” says Chief Edem Duke the organizer of the event.
This is a great opportunity for tourist all over the world to learn more of South Florida as a viable tourist destination.
Ansola who is certified in Diversity Training sits on the Broward County Diversity Advisory Council and the Broward County School Diversity Board has the once in a lifetime opportunity to utilize his experiences in the production of Carnivals and Festivals in South Florida.
Mr. Ansola is currently engaged in discussions with the Broward County School Board on the implementation of the ‘Art of Carnival’ into the school curriculum. This project is expected to begin in the 2010-2011 school year.
Mr. Ansola will return to South Florida to share the good news on the outcome of the conference on various radio and television programs.
