Soca Meets Reggae For Dance Party On Plaza of South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center For Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago Independence Celebration
MIAMI – In honor of the 52nd Independence celebrations of Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator, Inc., in collaboration with the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, will present a Dance Party on the Plaza on Friday, August 15, 2014, 7pm to midnight, 10950 SW 211 Street, Cutler Bay, FL 33189.
Featuring two of Miami’s renowned local Caribbean DJs, DJ Pablo of Hardcore Movements of Jamaica and DJ Dorenzo from Trinidad & Tobago, the dance party will celebrate the popular musical genres of soca and reggae, along with culinary treats from both countries. Miami-Dade County or the southern part of Miami-Dade County is a multicultural community, including a number of immigrants and nationals from Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and other nations from the Caribbean region.
Jamaica will celebrate its independence on August 6th, while Trinidad & Tobago will celebrate its independence on August 31st. This community event is intended to bring together South Miami-Dade and its Caribbean communities together to celebrate the culture, heritage, and musical traditions of soca and reggae.
