“Pupalick”, a Jamaican play comes to South Florida – It’s New, Fresh and Funny to Rahtid

CORAL SPRINGS – A cast of Jamaica’s finest actors will light up the stage at Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m., in Aston Cooke’s much anticipated all new satirical revue, Pupalick.

Directed by Michael ‘Stringbeans’ Nicholson, Pupalick boasts an outstanding cast which includes the 2007 Best Actress Dahlia Harris, Comedy Buss creator Christopher (Johnny) Daley, Actor Boy awardee Christopher McFarlane, Everaldo Creary – fresh from his movie debut in “Better Must Come’ along with the effervescent Zandriann Maye.

‘Pupalick comes from the Jamaica 2 Rahtid series, and will provide the usual laughter and plenty ‘bangarang’. According to playwright Cooke, “Pupalick is a high-energy and fun-filled satire for the entire family which will mirror Jamaicans at their best, worst, nicest, sweetest and funniest”. There is something in this production for everyone in the family.

Pupalick is an all new outrageously hilarious socio-political musical revue; a pot-pourri of colourful Jamaican characters, presented in a creative collection of 24 sketches and songs covering a wide range of topical social, cultural and political issues of the time. Cooke’s satirical pen touches on topics such as the Cuban light bulb scandal, Cash Plus, Jamaican talk shows, dual citizenship, elections, the political parties and their colourful leaders,


READY TO PUPALICK: The cast of Aston Cooke’s brand new satirical revue PUPALICK comes to town on March 15. Here, Zandriann Maye, Everaldo Creary, Camille Wilson, Dahlia Harris, Christopher McFarlane and Christopher (Johnny) Daley enters a market in a scene from the much anticipated musical revue.

Grub Cooper, the awesome musician of the Fab 5 band has created seven brand new musical numbers for “Pupalick’. Veteran choreographer Barbara McDaniel joins the team this year to stage the movement for the musical numbers. McDaniel is Artistic Director of Dance Theatre Xaymaca and Wolmer’s Dance Troupe.

Before coming to South Florida, Pupalick will play in Orlando at Wakeiva High School on Saturday, March 14 at 8:00 pm. The Florida presentations are sponsored by Jamaica National Money Transfer, Air Jamaica, National Weekly and The Victoria Mutual Building Society. The play is presented by Riddims Marketing in association with Jamaica Awareness, Inc.
