Miami Broward One Carnival Kicks off the 25th Annual Celebration of the Miami Carnival Season

MIAMI – With a renewed sense of unison, the Miami Broward One Carnival host committee kicked off the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Miami Carnival season with a spectacle of pageantry, color and fantasy displayed in this year’s incredible costumes, accompanied by the energetic sounds of calypso and soca.

On Saturday, August 22nd, the launch of the Carnival season began at Mahi Temple where the registered bands displayed and modeled their 2009 costumes for a packed house. Some of the hottest dj’s kept the crowd energized with the latest sounds of soca music.

On Saturday, August 29th, the Miami Broward One Carnival Host committee partnered with the Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center for their press conference at the “Carnival on the Plaza “event to mark the beginning of the Carnival season in Miami and to launch “The Harder they Come” musical. The day was filled with dozens of masquerade bands with vibrant color costumes, steel bands and music by Gary Enforcement.

This family event included a mini Kiddies Carnival that one will see on Sunday, October 5th, face painting and lots of fun activities for the kids.
