The entertainment industry is expected to come out in support of Buju Banton in this time of need. Stephen Marley, Gramps Morgan, Taurus Riley, Wayne Wonder, John Holt and other musicians and industry leaders have all confirmed their participation in this Buju Banton radio marathon.
The outstanding body of work that Buju has delivered over his illustrious career will be celebrated in the New York tri state area. The reggae Icon has been incarcerated since December 10, 2009. He was allegedly entrapped by a paid informant and arrested at his home in Tamarac, South Florida.
After many postponements, his trial finally commenced on September 20, 2010 and on September 27, a mistrial verdict was rendered. The panels of jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict. The case will be retried again in December 2010. Buju Banton is constitutionally entitled to bail. His bail hearing initially set for Wednesday, Oct. 6 has been postponed to next week.
We urge the public to support Buju Banton’s new album, a prophetic masterpiece, “Before the Dawn” by purchasing a copy today (Oct. 9).
We also encourage everyone to participate in the Letter Writing Campaign initiated by Buju Banton’s fans and supporters. The aim is to have at least 15,000 letters sent to Attorney General Eric Holder’s office before Buju’s bail decision next week. Please send the letter and encourage others to send the letter today!
