NRA-PVF Endorses Allen Boyd for U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District
Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Allen Boyd for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District this November.
Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF told reporters in a conference call, “The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund supports Allen Boyd because he has defended the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen in Florida and across America.”
During his time in Congress and through his leadership as a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Boyd has supported many pro-gun measures. He helped to restore self-defense rights in our nation’s capital by cosponsoring and voting for the D.C. Personal Protection Act and the Second Amendment Enforcement Act, and he signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting our individual right to keep and bear arms in the Heller case. Most recently, he signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief arguing that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that applies to all Americans in the McDonald case. In addition, he signed a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder stating his opposition to reinstating the failed assault rifle ban and magazine ban and also cosponsored and voted for legislation to force reform at the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
Additionally, Boyd cosponsored both the Firearms Interstate Commerce Reform Act would allow interstate sale of handguns subject to NICS, and the Veterans’ Heritage Firearms Act, that would provide an amnesty period during which veterans and their family members could register firearms acquired overseas between 1934 and 1968. Boyd also voted to allow carry license or permit holders to carry and transport firearms for self-defense in national parks and wildlife refuges.
Boyd’s pro-gun record in Congress has earned him an “A” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.
“We ask all NRA Members and gun owners in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District to vote Allen Boyd for Congress on November 2,” Cox concluded.
