In his new position, Hanley is responsible for the management of all strategic and day-to-day operations of the NTA. With so many new developments on the island, he recently conducted a series of site tours at hotels and other tourist attractions to meet with owners and managers and gather the latest information and offerings. Hanley plans to launch an aggressive action plan that includes hosting a tourism conference with stakeholders and international partners to produce a strategic marketing plan that requires greater involvement of tourism partners, encourages stakeholders to package products with added-value and focuses on structured e-marketing.

“I am honored to have this wonderful opportunity to boost the tourism landscape in Nevis,” commented Hanley. “There are so many developments and changes on the island happening just in time for the busy winter travel season. With the new performing arts center, a number of new restaurants, the re-opening of Four Seasons Resort Nevis and the resumption of direct American Eagle flights, I expect continued success of tourism on the island.”

Hanley joins the NTA from the Ministry of Tourism where he worked as the policy and regulations officer in the Research and Development Unit. Hanley earned a master’s degree in tourism management with a specialization in marketing, destination management and sustainable tourism from IULM University in Milan, Italy.
