Miami-Dade Chamber’s Gala Embraces South Florida’s Multicultural Business

Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce (M-DCC) will host its 11th Annual Holiday Gala: Embracing the South Florida Multicultural Business Community “Cruising into the Future”

MIAMI – On December 3rd, the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce (M-DCC) will host its 11th Annual Holiday Gala: Embracing the South Florida Multicultural Business Community “Cruising into the Future.”

The black-tie gala will take place in the exquisite Jungle Island’s Treetop Ballroom, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, Florida, 33132 and will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., a silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner, awards presentation, and a live performance by Grammy Award singer Howard Hewett.

With the theme, Cruising into the Future, guests will have an opportunity to be swept away with a special live performance by Howard Hewett and resort styled amenities.

This year, Joe Arriola, Chairman of Public Health Trust at Jackson Memorial Hospital, will serve as the honorary gala chair.

Our future and its success depends on the narrative that is being written today, and how we as a community are being inclusive as the great renaissance is being written.” said G. Eric Knowles, President and CEO of Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce.

South Florida’s best and brightest will be honored in business, civic and community leadership. Dr. Dorothy Jenkins Fields, will receive the H.T Smith Lifetime Achievement Award.  Dr. Fields is a visionary and trailblazer in preservation for local black history. She is the Founder of the Black Archives Lyric Theatre Cultural Arts Complex.

Dr. Nelson Adams will be presented with the Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Nelson Adams is a medical leader passionately committed to eliminating racial and ethnic inequality in health. He is currently the Chairman of the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson North Medical Center.

Rodney Baltimore
Rodney Baltimore

Rodney Baltimore will be presented with the Citizen of the Year Award. Rodney Baltimore is a true community activist, for and ‘about’ the people. He has a genuine desire and calling to help those in need and is passionate about broadcasting community outreach initiatives as the co-host of the Tom Joyner Morning show.

Leigh-Ann Buchanan will be presented the David Fincher Young Innovator Award. Leigh-Ann Buchanan is the founding Executive Director of Venture Café Miami. In this role, she works to facilitate sustainable growth, increased diversity and inclusion, and greater connectivity within Miami’s innovation and startup community.

Individual tickets are available for $200 per person and $2,250 for a table seating 10 guests.
