MIAMI GARDENS – Earlier this week Eddy Edwards resigned as a Director and member of Jamaica Awareness, Inc., an organization that he has diligently served as Founding President in its first 10 years, as well as Board Member and Director for the last 25 years.
Jamaica Awareness, Inc. is based in South Florida and has been instrumental in bringing quality entertainment to the South Florida Jamaican and Caribbean-American community.
In a statement to the media Eddy wanted to insure the community that it was solely his decision and he did not want any misunderstandings and the development of any damaging rumors.
According to Eddy, “Over the past 25 years, I have contributed to the development and growth of Jamaica Awareness, Inc. dedicating my time, financial resources, ideas and expertise”. “Today, the organization is recognized as a prominent organization in promoting the culture of Jamaica and the Caribbean in South Florida”.
“The organization is now ready to move into its next phase of growth and development and I wish it well with the new thrust and new members”.

Eddy has decided to move on, to explore new ideas and form new partnerships as well as expand his vision and continue to work and develop Riddims Marketing, the Jamaican Jerk Festival and other projects. “There will still be projects which will require collaboration between Riddims Marketing and Jamaica Awareness in the future, as we have developed several events and brands together and we will continue to present them jointly” states Eddy.
