Caribbean-American to run for State House Of Representatives, District 94

FT. LAUDERDALE – Eric J. Hammond, P.E. a Professional Engineer and Businessman in South Florida, filed with the Division Of Elections as a Candidate For The Florida House of Representatives, District 94 since March 6, 2007.

Hammond has again decided to pursue this seat, which will become open in 2008, due to term limits. This is a district and its constituents that he has been intimately involved with since the year 2000 when he worked the district as the campaign Manager for the outgoing incumbent.

Mr. Hammond has not only involved himself politically in this district (94), but he has instituted numerous sustainable people-oriented programs to empower the general community, educate the business community and the educate the Children.

A major on-going project for the past 2 years is The Kids-In-Science (K.I.S.) Club that targets kids from 6 to 14 years old to learn science at an early age. This is an outgrowth of The Support and Entrepreneurial Center, non-profit organization founded and run by Mr. Hammond.

Eric Hammond is the founder of numerous sustainable community based organizations within this Central Broward Community and pledges to continue serving with integrity, commitment and passion.

Over the years, He has been deeply involved in Business, Community and Politics, have pursued public office on a number of occasions, in addition to being Campaign Manager for State and Local Campaigns.

The hallmark of Mr. Hammond’s community involvement is spelled out quite emphatically with “My commitment to community is not only a goal, it is my passion.”

Mr. Hammond has resided in the United States continuously for the past 29 years with 20 of those years in South Florida and is originally from Jamaica. He is married to Claudette for 29 years and has five grown children.
