Hyatt Regency Trinidad is Ready for the Summit of the Americas

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Hyatt Regency Trinidad will be in the world’s spotlight this weekend when 34 heads of state including U.S. President Barack Obama will convene at the hotel for the Fifth Summit of the Americas. The Summit begins with an official inauguration ceremony, cultural program and reception at the hotel.

Preparation for the event has been extensive and includes support personnel from other North and South American Hyatt hotels. The Hyatt’s multi-lingual staff will be providing assistance in Spanish, French, English and Portuguese throughout the Summit. “Our commitment to high standards for our guests is very important,” said General Manager Russell George. “As always, our preparation is focused on ensuring the highest level of service.” Pre-Summit groundwork has also included upgrading several standard guestrooms to suites so that all attending heads of state will have suite-level accommodations.

Mr. George had a special tasting session with Executive Chef Fernando Franco on April 2 to sample the special cuisine to be served for the delegates. “The kitchen is ready,” said Franco. “We have chosen an international menu with an emphasis on local ingredients and authentic Trini flavors.”
