Historic Caribbean Marketplace Seeks Vendors

little haiti cultural complexMIAMI – There will be a meeting on July 2, 2014, at 5:30 p.m., calling all artists, artisans and craft vendors interested in becoming merchants in the Caribbean Marketplace (CMP) located in Little Haiti, Miami. It will be an informational session regarding the rental and leasing of space in the Caribbean Marketplace, which is set to reopen its doors on July 18, 2014. Qualifications and other regulations about renting spaces in the Marketplace will be discussed.

The re-establishment of this Marketplace is a collaborative effort of the City of Miami in partnership with the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, the Little Haiti Cultural Complex (LHCC), and the Northeast Second Avenue Partnership (NE2P). It is anticipated that new businesses will be created in this cultural hub, resulting in employment opportunities for the local community. The 9,500-square-foot space will include a refreshment and concession area, as well as, a gift shop and beverage station. Low rates, technical and marketing assistance will be provided to all vendors. A media plan has been put in place to promote the market to locals and international tourists.

A special thank you to the following sponsors: Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, Knight Foundation, Northeast 2nd Avenue Partnerships, City of Miami and District 5 Commissioner Keon Hardemon.
