PEMBROKE PINES – On Saturday, July, 21, 2007, 7:30pm, the Guyana Relief Council of Florida, Inc. (GRCFL) will be hosting an “Announcement Dinner & Dance” to launch its USA Chapter at the Grand Palms Country Club in Pembroke Pines.
This inaugural dinner & dance will celebrate the establishment of the GRCFL, a chapter of the GRC which for the past 13 years has consistently provided timely relief to people in Guyana stricken with disaster and unforeseen circumstances.
The Guyana Relief Council (http://www.guyanareliefcouncil.org.gy/) is registered (no. 698) under the Friendly Societies Act, in Guyana, as a charitable, non-profit, non-governmental organization established to render assistance to persons affected by man made or other disasters.
The Guyana Relief Council does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, family responsibilities, political affiliation, physical and/or mental handicap, source of income, nor place of residence or business. The Council is geared to give help, as far as practicable, to all citizens of Guyana who have suffered through natural or man made disasters.
The Guyana Relief Council of Florida, Inc., a tax-exempt, non-profit organization pursuant to section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, was formed to provide the US-based Guyanese community and concerned corporations with a vehicle in which to financially contribute to emergency supplies and outreach services provided by the GRC. The GRCFL, a completely volunteer-based entity, supports the developmental needs of the GRC’s many programs conducted in Guyana.
The community is invited to contribute to the success of this event and the Guyana Relief Council’s efforts in fulfilling its objective to bring relief and or appropriate rehabilitation to persons affected by disasters of any kind, who are in need of urgent assistance in any part of Guyana. All proceeds go to support the services offered by the Council including material aid and assistance, temporary shelter, counseling, guidance and medical assistance.
