Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) Bmobile launches online experience created by Miami based company

MIAMI – (CaribPR Newswire)- The interactive web site that Miami-based The Factory Interactive conceived and executed for a Caribbean telecommunications company has resulted in record-breaking sales for the client.

Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) commissioned The Factory Interactive (TFI) to handle everything from design direction and visual language to comprehensive e-commerce applications for bmobile, its mobile telephone division. “We effectively extended the bmobile brand into the global marketplace, and developed previously- unexplored revenue streams through the implementation of e-commerce,” said Joshua Hancik, Vice President of The Factory Interactive.

The Factory Interactive (TFI), an eight-year-old full- service agency based in Miami, worked with TSTT’s global team to get the Web site http://bmobile.co.tt up and running within a demanding timetable. TFI’s staff telescoped approximately a year’s work into three months to meet the pre-Christmas deadline. They also recommended and installed the required hardware and custom software to run the interactive vehicle, which features flash streaming video, real- time pricing information, location finders and several other consumer-friendly interactive elements.

TSTT’s Business Context

Faced with competition in its mobile phone market for the first time, TSTT initiated a TT$1.6 billion (US$275 million) strategic re-branding effort in 2005. Upgrading infrastructure and re-introducing its mobile divisions under the new name bmobile was a key element in the strategy to secure its market share against intruders.

“We needed to make a very strong impact that would overcome all other mobile service providers. TFI helped us develop a secure on-line marketplace that pushes the boundaries of technology and design, while maintaining a distinctly Caribbean personality,” said Natasha David, manager of mobile marketing communication for TSTT. “TFI’s multicultural staff is very skilled at communicating effectively with our consumers,” she said. “We have maintained a long- standing relationship with them, and knew they were perfect for this far-reaching project.”

The seamless integration of TSTT’s closed-loop backend inventory and pricing systems provides real- time product information and costs to online shoppers. A graceful design makes the site easy to browse, simple to use, and highly immersive. Via the new web site, bmobile customers with Internet- enabled mobiles can purchase ringtones, wallpapers, mp3s and videos and bill them to their mobile phone accounts.
