Fundraiser Celebrates Life of Caribbean American
PEMBROKE PINES – On April 21, the South Florida Caribbean community will celebrate the life of late community leader, Laureen Gosing for An Evening of Elegance and Entertainment under the distinguished patronage of the Consul General of Trinidad and Tobago, in Miami, Mr. Gerard Greene.
The fundraiser will feature calypsonian Crazy, pannist Leon ‘Foster’ Thomas, and DJ Maestro.
The Foundation’s charitable vision is supportive of two worthy causes; to raise funds to provide an annual scholarship to a deserving student to pursue a degree in Hospitality Management or Consumer Sciences and to make a significant donation to the Cancer and Diabetes Foundations assisting them in their never ending quest to find a cure and to make critical advances in the research for treatment of those ailments, both afflictions that Laureen endured.
Laureen, a mother, teacher, radio show personality and hostess par excellence, served this community in myriad ways before her untimely demise. Her relentless dedication and commitment to help the younger generation, contributed immeasurably to their productive future and success.
It is this legacy that the Foundation seeks to welcome the community to celebrate together. “It is an ideal and fitting way to honor and preserve her memory in a manner that celebrates her mantra, “Live to Love, Love to Live,” stated Lana Logan, sister of Laureen Gosine.
This formal gala affair featuring dinner, dance and entertainment will be held on Saturday April 21st. 2007 at the Walter C. Young Resource Center, 901 N 129th Avenue in Pembroke Pines, at 8pm.
