Five Unique Rum Recipes to Celebrate National Rum Day!

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – As National Rum Day approaches on August 16, Barbados is making the case for the ultimate toast. Known as the birthplace of rum, the island is spotlighting its spirited legacy through Royalton Vessence Barbados, where a new collaboration with Mount Gay — recognized as the world’s oldest rum distillery — brings premium tastings, signature cocktails and immersive rum experiences to the forefront.
Can’t make it to Barbados this National Rum Day?
For travelers who cannot make it to Barbados for the occasion, the resort is extending the celebration stateside with a quartet of island-inspired recipes designed for at-home mixing.
Developed by Royalton Vessence Barbados bartenders Andre Ricardo and Samantha Marshal, the lineup channels the island’s rum culture through four distinct serves: the spice-forward Bajan Spiced Margarita, the fruit-and-herb-driven Strawberry Love, the creamy tropical Coco Mint and the classic-meets-Caribbean Bajan Mojito.
