First Caribbean American Elected Official in South Florida reaches another significant milestone
LAUDERDALE LAKES – It is with immense pride that we announce this week another historic celebration of accomplishment for the Caribbean American Community in South Florida.
Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner Hazelle Rogers the first Caribbean American elected to political office in South Florida on Tuesday August 26th 2008 won election to the State of Florida House of Representatives for District 94. Today, as one of the longest serving Caribbean American elected official in the United States she is on her way to continue to serve her constituents in the State Capital, Tallahassee.
Commissioner Rogers would like to extend to all of the residents of District 94 her profound thanks and gratitude for their expression of confidence and trust in electing her as their representative.
She pledges to continue providing the highest level of professionalism and service that has been a staple of her years on the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission so that all of the cities of District 94 and Broward County as a whole will benefit from her advocacy.
In her words she states, “I have committed my life to Public Service and will continue to place the interests of the community that I serve always at the top of my agenda”.
Commissioner Rogers who has served as Past President of the Broward County League of Cities has created many service partnerships with business and schools in her tenure on the City Commission and will continue those initiatives in her new district to the benefit of the residents of District 94. The illustrious career of Commissioner Hazelle Rogers is one in which we all can take pride in celebrating as she embarks on a new chapter.. “Let the work that I have done speak for me,” says State Representative-Elect Rogers.
