MIAMI — The House of Representatives is expected to vote today on a relief bill titled The Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act, or HEROES Act.
The Heroes Act includes economic assistance to all taxpayers, extended work permits for TPS holders and DACA recipients, and COVID-19 testing and treatment for all.
Family Action Network Movement (FANM) strongly supports the passage of this Act which will provide much needed relief to so many individuals and families in need.
Marleine Bastien, Executive Director of Family Action Network Movement said, “The United States must prioritize the health and well-being of all people during this time of grave crisis. The Heroes Act protects our nation by investing in the recovery of communities, caring for our essential workers, and ensuring that all people, regardless of their immigration status, have access to equal testing and treatment. This bill also ensures that TPS holders, DACA Recipients, and other essential workers continue to live and work in the country most have called home for the majority of their lives. This bill will definitely save lives. FANM urges Congress to pass it and President Trump to forego his veto threat and sign it. Our country will be better off for it. The passage of this bill will uphold our unalienable right to life.”
