MIAMI – Commissioner Jean Monestime will be celebrating Thanksgiving with Miami-Dade County residents during a turkey giveaway on Monday, November 22, 2010. The commissioner will be distributing 100 turkeys to selected families in need at the Liberty Square Housing Project, 6304 NW 14th Avenue, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“A good Thanksgiving meal with family and friends is not always possible for residents who do not have the means to purchase staple goods for the holidays,” said Commissioner Monestime.
“We appreciate our newly-elected commissioner Jean Monestime for assisting Liberty Square residents during the holidays,” said Sara Smith, president of the Liberty Square Resident Council. “We are looking forward to keeping Commissioner Monestime in touch with our concerns and needs in Liberty City.”
