Dr. Rudy Moise makes it official; candidate for US Congress
MIAMI– On Tuesday, December 1, Dr. Rudolph “Rudy” Moise officially announced his candidacy for US Congress in Florida’s 17th District at Charles Hadley Park in Liberty City. Dr. Moise was joined by community leaders, religious leaders, supporters, community activists, family and friends.
Moise kicked off his campaign saying, “I am running for Congress because I want to continue my service to our community and country. When I came here from Haiti at the age of 17, I was so excited about the opportunities our country had to offer. Today, I remain excited and want to help others realize their own American Dream.”
Dr. Moise said his experience as a successful businessman, physician, attorney and Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve make him qualified and different from all of his opponents. “This is not a job for a professional politician,” said Moise, “I stand here today concerned for the future of our country and want to put my unique life experiences to work for the people of District 17.”

“We are closer now to health care reform than we have ever been as a nation; but, there is more work to do even after reform passes,” stated Moise at the announcement. “The physician in me sees the great hope as well as the great risk in the current debate over health care reform. I believe it is a moral imperative for our nation to reform health care so that every man, woman and child in America has access to affordable health care.”
Moise says he would focus on four main issues as the next Congressman including jobs, health care, education and national security. “As your next Congressman, I will fight to bring more and better jobs to our community. I will be a solid vote in favor of health care reform that will help us get our deficit under control. I will also fight to end these wars even as we support our soldiers and veterans,” he concluded.
Democrat Rudy Moise and his wife Mirjam have two young children, Rudy, Jr. and Maya. Since 1984, Rudy has been the President and Medical Director of The Comprehensive Health Center, located in the heart of the district, North Miami. The facility has served more than 25,000 people in the local community.
