delancyhill, Miami Light Project and Legacy Magazine Celebrate Black History Month Honoring Monica Russo

MIAMI – On Thursday, February 27, 2014, 6pm-8pm, at its annual celebration for Black History Month, host delancyhill P.A., in collaboration with Legacy Magazine and Miami Light Project will honor SEIU labor leader Monica Russo and Legacy Honorees T. Willard Fair, Annie Neasman, Dr. Carmel Barrau, Lovette McGill, Stanley Caleb, and reggae icons Inner Circle for their inspiring contributions to Black History and the community at large.

The reception will host clients, firm partners, and community leaders from 6:00-8:00PM at The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse in Wynwood, 404 N.W. 26th Street, Miami, Florida.

This 10th annual commemorative of Black History Month is the law firm tradition of delancyhill, P.A. which created a special award, previously bestowed on community leaders such as Ruth Shack, Dorothy Jenkins-Fields, David Wilson, Babacar M’Bow, Commissioner Betty T. Ferguson, Cheryl Little, John Kozyak, Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, U.S. District Court Judge Marcia Cooke, for their ”contributions in uplifting African-American communities of the South Florida”.

This year’s Honoree, Monica Russo, is the President of the SEIU Florida State Council, Executive Vice President at 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the International Vice President at SEIU, and a past Commissioner at Florida Commission on the Status of Women.

”Monica is a consummate advocate of worker’s rights and a champion for thousands of hospitality and healthcare industry workers of color in Florida and across the world. Her efforts have had an extraordinary impact on their quality of life and the upliftment of their voice in corporate board rooms and legislative halls,” stated Marlon A. Hill, partner, delancyhill.

They have excelled in the fields of economic development, healthcare, labor relations, community development, and music & entertainment.
