Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis in collaboration with the City of Miramar Host Caribbean-American Heritage Month Reception

MIRAMAR – Celebrate the rich heritage of Caribbean-American culture at the City of Miramar Cultural Arts Center’s Gala Reception honoring Caribbean pioneers in various categories for their outstanding contributions made in the City of Miramar, and the South Florida region. This event will be held on Monday, June 30th, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 2400 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025. This free reception is celebrating the diverse heritage and culture of the Caribbean.

Co-hosting the event is Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis who stated that “As one of the most diverse cities in South Florida, our event highlights how celebrating our diversity makes our City one of the best in the region.”

The evening will consist of an exhibition: Migration of the Sign, featuring works by Karl Jerry Craig, Koffi Kayiga and Cecil Cooper. In addition to the exhibition, the individuals who have made great contributions to the Caribbean Community will be honored.
