Broward Caribbean Carnival to party at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium

FT. LAUDERDALE – On Sunday, October 7 the Ft. Lauderdale Stadium (next to Lockhart Stadium, near Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road) will we filled the sounds of the Caribbean as it will be the home to Broward Caribbean Carnival.

The Fort Lauderdale’s city commission granted approval, after the City of Miramar rejected their bid to hold the Carnival in Miramar’s Regional Park citing too many people, parking and trash problems and previous difficulties.

Broward Caribbean Carnival Inc. estimate the event puts $60 million into Broward’s economy, taking into account hotels, car rentals and other expenditures.

”Everything is falling in place,” said Mario Zamora, a founding member of Broward Caribbean Carnival with two weeks to go.

Volunteers Needed

Anyone who is interested and is willing to volunteer at this year’s Broward Carnival can contact, Rafiek Mohammed at 305-289-4369. Students can earn credit hours and are encouraged to be involved.
