New Air Jamaica GM Appointed

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Air Jamaica’s Vice President, Finance and Information Technology (IT), Howard Hall, will assume the new position of General Manager, as Caribbean Airlines and Air Jamaica continue their integration process, a release from the airline has disclosed.

Mr. Hall’s contract took effect on Thursday (July 1), after President and CEO Bruce R. Nobles’ contract ended on June 30.

Mr. Nobles served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Air Jamaica from June 2002 to March 2003. He rejoined the airline in October 2008, and was instrumental in assisting the Government in its strategy for the preparation of privatizing the airline, managing its operations and formulating the transition to Caribbean Airlines.

Chairman of Air Jamaica, the Hon. Dennis Lalor, thanked Mr. Nobles for his service, and noted that the airline and Jamaica were well served by his insight and experience.

“The entire Air Jamaica team thanks Bruce for being an excellent leader, who remained steadfast in dynamic times,” Mr. Lalor added.

Caribbean Airlines CEO, Captain Ian Brunton, added that Mr. Nobles’ “agile mind, entrepreneurial spirit and his credentials in global aviation” contributed to his invaluable leadership through, what has been, one of the most challenging periods of the airline’s history.

Mr. Hall has served two tenures at Air Jamaica. He served as Chief Financial Officer 2000-2004 and as Vice President Finance and IT since October 2008.

He has considerable expertise in financial planning and general management and has been pivotal in transforming Air Jamaica. He will continue to function in his current role as head of Finance and IT.
