West Indian Of The Week: Caroline Racine

SCOTCH PLAINS, New Jersey – It’s not easy including your communities into a very busy and innovative working environment but “West Indian of the Week,” Caroline Racine not only combines these concerns but excels in both undertakings.

Haitian American sales and marketing executive Caroline Racine has been a star performer for more than a decade at Choice Hotels International, one of the fastest growing hospitality companies anywhere.

Caroline is recognized for her awe-inspiring contribution to the corporate community as well as to the enhancement of community life in the Caribbean.

Just last week, the 42 year-old Racine moved up to a new level of focus when she transitioned from Choice Hotels International, to advise businesses wanting to improve the quality of life of Caribbean nationals in her native Haiti.

During her 12-year career at Choice, Caroline served in a variety of roles within the organization, most recently as director of Diversity, Religious, Educational and Fraternal Sales where she has played an instrumental role in building the foundation for Choice Hotels in these growing market segments.

Prior to joining Global Sales, Caroline worked with Choice on the Caribbean franchise development team, where she was responsible for increasing the brand awareness and distribution of the company’s 10 brands throughout the Caribbean.

In her earlier days with Choice, Caroline worked with the Worldwide Sales & Intermediary Marketing division, where she led the charge for the company’s strategic direction with its largest leisure partnership, AAA/CAA, as the primary interface with executives and club presidents. Under her leadership, the motor club revenue more than doubled from US $100 million to $224 million. She maintained steady incremental revenue growth, averaging eight percent year over year.

Not surprisingly, in 2003, Caroline was named “Hoteliers Rising Star” in Travel Agent Magazine, and in 2010, she now earns the distinction of being named “West Indian of the Week.”

“West Indian of the Week” is produced by Marketplace Excellence, a full service, integrated marketing agency committed to excellence in the fields of public relations, marketing and media coaching.
