St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands – In a press conference on Friday, December 5th, United States Virgin Islands Governor-Elect Kenneth E. Mapp and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Osbert Potter announced the volunteer chairs of the 14 transition committees that they recently formed to assess the government before they step into office next January. “We have examined the current situation in the Virgin Islands and have devised a transition team structure which will give us the most thorough snapshot of not only the central government, but also the needs of the private sector as well,” said Potter. “We opened up our transition team membership to the community at large to ensure their voices are represented and to develop a more accurate picture of where our resources and energies need to be prioritized and directed.”

Mapp added, “I want to thank all of the transition team members who have volunteered for this very arduous and time-consuming task of collecting this vast amount of information.
