Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism Development Company (TDC) appoints Sport Tourism Manager
TRINIDAD – The Tourism Development Company Limited of Trinidad and Tobago has appointed Mr. Manohar Ramsaran to the post of Manager, Sports Tourism.
In his new role Mr. Ramsaran will be responsible for leading sport tourism initiatives, while driving the marketing and development of this niche to increase Trinidad and Tobago’s capacity to attract and host sport events.
As the head of the TDC’s new Sport Tourism Unit, one of Mr. Ramsaran first projects will be to meet with key stakeholders in an effort to open new communication channels, streamline existing systems and build greater synergies between the tourism sector and local sporting organisations in the public and private sectors.
A graduate of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business with an Executive Masters in Business Administration, Mr. Ramsaran possesses an extensive and laudable background in sport. A former Member of Parliament, he served as Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Sport from September 1998 to December 2001.
The former Administrative Manager of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, Mr. Ramsaran, who is also an avid sportsman, played both football and cricket at the secondary school level and captained the Customs and Excise Cricket Team from 1973 to 1995. He has also served on the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board of Control.
