MIAMI GARDENS – The Trayvon Martin Foundation in partnership with the Miami Dolphins and in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools present the Stay Woke 2018 Teen Summit.

The summit will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 (8:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.) at Miami-Dade College’s Lehman Theatre, located at 11380 NW 27th Avenue, Miami, FL 33167.

The youth summit is an annual educational affair that showcases youth participants and covers a range of topics including bullying, conflict resolution, gun violence and voter education.

The event allows youth to strategize in engaging activities with honest and informative discussion pertaining to violence in our schools and neighborhoods and will feature an open conversation on ideas and plans of action designed to empower youth and curtail violence.

The Stay Woke event is supported by the Miami Dolphins, which selected The Trayvon Martin Foundation as a 2018-2019 Football Unites grant recipient.

Created in November 2017 by Owner Stephen Ross and Dolphins players, these grants provide funds for South Florida-based groups to strengthen and expand their impact around community engagement, education and justice reform.

Founded by Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, parents of the late Trayvon Martin, the Trayvon Martin Foundation is a social justice organization committed to ending senseless gun violence. It was established to create awareness of how violent crime impacts the families of the victims, and to provide support and advocacy for those families in response to the murder of Trayvon Martin.
