Toots & The Maytals Film Interview For The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
CLEVELAND – Reggae legend Toots & The Maytals closed out the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame’s Black History Month Reggae Celebration in Cleveland Ohio recently with a specially filmed 2 hour interview.
Hosted by Reggae historian Roger Steffens, Toots recalled his 43 year career during a beautiful evening that included an acoustic performance, interview and audience Q & A from the 170 specially invited guests.
Toots closed out a month long celebration that included Chris Blackwell, the Mighty Diamonds and Mikey Dread. Throughout the interview Toots played over a dozen songs on acoustic guitar and Roger played many of the original records he brought from his collection. When Roger was asked to wrap things up at the end of the evening, he responded “What ? We are only up to 1972. Looks like he will need to come back for Part 2”. Toots closed out the evening signing autographs to those in attendance.
Currently on his Annual 8 week US Tour, Toots & The Maytals have been performing for sold out audiences from Florida to New York to California.
