Three Caribbean Resorts Welcome New International Executives

MIAMI – Three resorts in the Caribbean are improving their portfolios by welcoming new executives with vast experience leading some of the best resorts in the world. The properties are located in Aruba, St. Kitts and Curacao.

The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino appointmented John P. Woolley as the resort’s new Director of Sales & Marketing. Among his various positions, Woolley most recently served as Director of Sales and Marketing of the New York Marriott Financial Center. Woolley first joined the Marriott team in 2000 as Director of International Accounts where he managed key Global Accounts for eight Marriott Hotels in New York City.

In 2003, he was promoted to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing of the Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square. Among his many accomplishments for the Marriott group, John and his team achieved record sales and marketing results for the Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square. Woolley was also responsible for re-positioning and changing the business mix for the New York Marriott post-September 11th. The Aruba Marriott is delighted to welcome John, his wife Adrienne and their three children to the resort family.

Chela de Lannoy has accepted the position of Director of Event Management at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. De Lannoy first started with the company as part of the opening team in 1995. She held various positions in the Food and Beverage Department and then moved to the Catering Department, where she was promoted from Manager to Senior Catering Manager. Most recently de Lannoy was the resort’s Sales Manager, in charge of all weddings taking place at the Aruba Marriott, as well as local events and banquet functions.

In her new role de Lannoy will be overseeing the Events Department and Banquets Department, in charge of all functions, groups, meetings and weddings, both locally as well as internationally. De Lannoy will start in her new position of Director of Event Management on November 15th.

The St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino

The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino is proud to welcome Simon Bell as Director of Marketing. Celebrating his fifteenth year of service to the Marriott team, Simon served in various management and financial positions throughout Marriott hotels in Australia. His most recent position was Director of Sales and Marketing for Brisbane Marriott Hotel in Queensland, Australia. The St. Kitts Marriott is pleased to welcome Simon, his wife Michelle and their new son Michael to the St. Kitts Marriott family.

Hotel Kura Hulanda

Curacao’s Hotel Kura Hulanda has named Michael Molema as Resident Manager. Molema, 34, has spent the last eight years at several five-star properties in Holland, including the Hotel Pulitzer, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Luxury Collection; The Grand Amsterdam, a Sofitel Hotel; and Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam. With a strong food & beverage background working in various managerial roles, as well as several years experience as duty manager, Michael looks forward to working with the Kura Hulanda staff and management to maintain the five-star service and Leading Small Hotel of the World standards for which it is known.
