Three Broward County Libraries close for normal business to facilitate early voting

FT. LAUDERDALE – In response to large turnout and long lines for Early Voting, Broward County Libraries Division has announced that three libraries serving as Early Voting locations will be closed to normal business Thursday, October 30, through Sunday, November 2, so that Early Voting may continue in an orderly, convenient and more comfortable manner for residents.

Locations that will be closed to the public, except for those residents participating in Early Voting, are:

Davie/Cooper City Branch Library
4600 S.W. 82nd Avenue
Davie

Tamarac Branch Library
8701 W. Commercial Blvd.
Tamarac

Pompano Beach Branch Library
1213 E. Atlantic Blvd.
Pompano Beach
(This branch will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 29)

Interior spaces within these libraries will be used to help alleviate long lines and allow more voters to sit down while waiting to vote. Book drops for returned items will be available but all fines for overdue materials at these libraries will be waived during the period that these libraries are closed.

The three libraries resume their normal hours and services on Monday, November 3.
