The Patently Impossible Project to Benefit Legal Aid

MIAMI – The Intellectual Property Committee of the Dade County Bar Association proudly invites you to participate in “The Patently Impossible Project” to benefit the Legal Aid Society on Friday, December 3 2010 from 6pm – 8pm at the Miami Science Museum.

Challenge your fellow attorneys as you race to assemble a patented invention at The Patently Impossible Project. All participants will be provided various parts, tools, and a patent registration – your job is to complete the assembly of the invention before your competition. Prizes include a library of intellectual property books from BNA books, a special first place trophy, and of course, bragging rights! If the competition intimidates you, come watch the action from the sidelines, cheer on your colleagues, and bet on the winner by purchasing raffle tickets for incredible door prizes.

The Legal Aid Society is the oldest legal services provider for the indigent in Miami-Dade County. Established in 1939 and chartered in 1949, Legal Aid is the sole source of free civil legal services to all Miami-Dade’s indigent community; all foster children, regardless of age; victims of domestic violence and sexual assault seeking permanent injunction services; and families needing to open a guardianship case for an incapacitated child or parent. Unfortunately, devastating funding cuts have reduced Legal Aid’s staff and ability to serve the ever growing legal needs of the indigent clients in Miami Dade. Legal Aid needs you now.
