The Gleaner Company hires new Operations Manager for South Florida’s Gleaner Extra

Plantation, FL-The Gleaner Company (N.A.) Ltd., has served the Jamaican and Caribbean communities in North America for over 40 years through its publications – The Weekly Gleaner, The Weekly Star and the Gleaner Extra. The General Manager, Ms. Moveta Munroe has hired Maxine J. Tulloch, President and CEO of APM Consultants, Inc., to be the new Operations Manager for South Florida Gleaner Extra, with advertising responsibilities extended to the Weekly Gleaner and the Weekly Star.

Ms. Munroe stated that Ms. Tulloch was the ideal choice because of her advertising background and experience working in her advertising agency. In addition to that, she brings her corporate experience and knowledge to take the Gleaner Extra to another level. We should see a fresh look, new web site access, extended distribution (35,000) benefiting our advertisers, subscription opportunities, more involvement and visibility in the Caribbean communities throughout South Florida with added account representatives working with the local businesses.

The Gleaner is the oldest independent newspaper in the English speaking Caribbean. The Company celebrated its 170th year of publications in 2004 with seven publications and Go-Jamaica, the Gleaner’s web site. The group of newspapers “Extra” was founded on the belief that the Jamaican & Caribbean communities in Florida, New York, Canada and London are vibrant and dynamic, rich with stories of struggle, sorrow, joys and achievements; thereby the “Extra” is published in those states and countries respectively.
