“Wear Yuh Colors” to Celebrate Jamaica Independence Day

Local Jamaican organizations, Jamaicans.com in association with, JAMPACT, United For Jamaica, Jamaica Awareness, South Florida Caribbean News.com, From The Verandah, Caribbean National Weekly, top5jamaica.com, and thereggaeboyz.com have come together to propose celebrate Jamaica Independence Day, with “Wear Yuh Colors”.

To show support for Jamaica’s Independence Day, the organizations are making an appeal to Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica to celebrate Jamaica by wearing clothing and/or shoes with the colors of the Jamaican flag Black, Green and Gold (Yellow). We are aiming for people all over world to wear Black, Green and Gold for this celebration every year.

Each color in the flag is symbolic, the black stands for hardship, the green for both hope and the fertile land, and the gold for wealth and sunshine.

Jamaica has and continues to influence the world with its people, music, food, art and culture. Most recently, Afsa Powell set the world record in the 100 meter and Veronica Campbell, is the No. 1 female sprinter in the world.

Show the world you celebrate Jamaica and all things Jamaica, by “Wearing Yuh Colors”, Black, Green and Gold for this Indepence Day and each year.
