Team Jamaica Bickle Fundraising Breakfast Aims To Delight Palates!

NEW YORK – In its continuing quest to raise funds, Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB) will, this Saturday, April 18, (9am-11am), hold its 2nd annual breakfast in the Bronx, NY, at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Hall -777, 222nd Street.

Fundraising Breakfast

The breakfast is one of many fundraising events on TJB’s yearly calendar. It helps support the big hospitality effort at the annual Penn Relays. At this event, TJB provides transportation, helps with accommodations, and offers meals. They assist around 650 athletes and coaches.

The first breakfast was held to wide community acclaim in 2014, which led to it becoming an annual event.  The breakfast will present some of the finest fare originating from ‘home-country’, Jamaica and promises to be a delight to the palate. Ackee & saltfish, Jamaica’s national dish will be the highlight but the rest of the menu is not to be slighted:  liver and banana; callaloo, fried dumpling, porridge, plus a whole lot more should satisfy the gastronomic ‘island-cravings.’

Food and entertainment go well together. To make this happen, TJB has invited a great friend, Teddy Crawford. Teddy is a talented singer and guitarist. His music includes many folk songs and guitar solos. This mix of sounds will engage the audience and keep them happy.

21 years in, TJB continues to grow and diversify its offering. The organization recently held its first event-a brunch, in the DMV, (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) area, amidst plans to establish a chapter in that region.
