Tampa Carnival Caribbean Euphoria 2k6

TAMPA BAY – Joining the list of cities celebrating Carnival festivals worldwide, the city of Tampa Bay, Florida will host its inaugural fete, Tampa Carnival Caribbean Euphoria 2k6, at the Florida State Fairgrounds April 29-30, 2006. The events for Carnival in Tampa will occur over a four day period commencing Thursday, April 27 through Sunday, April 30 2006.

Tampa Carnival Caribbean Euphoria 2k6 is owned and operated by calypso legend Anthony Devon George, President/CEO – Tampa Caribbean Festival Inc., a non-profit organization.

Mr. George is known throughout the Reggae, Soca & Calypso community as a performer with such hits as “If Ah Rude Ah Rude” & older brother to renown singer/songwriter/performer Iwer George. Devon George is embraced by many as a Cultural Ambassador for Carnivals worldwide. Mr. George has strategically gotten the endorsement by the City of Tampa and its Visitor’s Bureau to produce and organize Tampa Carnival Caribbean Euphoria 2k6.

Carnival in Tampa will bring together a diverse mixture of people, entertainers and activities across the city creating the Caribbean Euphoria. The mission is to broaden and deepen the public’s appreciation of cultural diversity by creating a four (4) day family oriented festival geared to educate, entertain, and share the rich culture of the Caribbean American community with the Tampa Bay area.

The debut of Carnival in Tampa places the event as the Grand Opening of Caribbean Carnival Festivities during 2006, which will launch celebrations throughout North America and beyond. With fifteen years full-time experience promoting Caribbean Carnival worldwide, the organizers have extensive support from a vast network of performers, entertainers and organizers of similar events. Tampa Carnival Caribbean Euphoria 2k6 is sure to attract special awareness and attention by the local community as well as visitors.

The festival framework is comprised of a ‘CARNIVAL BAMBOO PATCH’ were in you can expect to witness Children and Adults in a Carnival parade of masquerade bands, King and Queen Masqueraders, Floats, Costumes, a Beauty Pageant, Steel Drum Jamboree, West Indian Tassa Drumming, Comedy, Folk Dancing, Food Fair, Arts & Crafts Expo, Fun, Games, Fireworks, and Live concerts by Soca & Calypso, Reggae, Salsa, Latin, Reggaeton, and Haitian performing artists. A schedule of events will be posted disclosing the confirmed list of artists and special theme parties.
