Stanford Financial Group To Expand in the Caribbean

ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Stanford Financial Group of companies is expanding significantly its presence in the
Caribbean with the building of a global management campus in St. Croix.

Stanford plans to break ground next month on construction of the new state-of- the-art complex which will include 105,000 square feet of office
space and conference facilities. An official groundbreaking ceremony is planned for later in February.

The Stanford Financial Group global management office will be located on a 37-acre site at the southwest corner of the Henry E. Rohlsen International Airport. Stanford has been working closely with the Virgin Islands Port Authority to secure the location and negotiate the particulars
of the long- term investment in St. Croix.

The new facility will serve as the base for the support functions of Stanford’s global network of financial services companies.

Stanford will also establish in St. Croix the management offices for the Stanford 20/20 Cricket Tournament, the newly formed Stanford Caribbean Investments and Stanford Aviation.

“We are extremely pleased to work with Stanford Financial Group on this prestigious project,” said Robert O’Connor, Jr., Chairman of the Governing Board of the Virgin Islands Port Authority. “This is a good example of how we can work in partnership with the corporate community on important development and business investment projects. To have a company like Stanford Financial Group select St. Croix for such a significant corporate investment shows the confidence that Sir Allen has in the United States
Virgin Islands.”

According to Stanford Chairman and CEO Sir Allen Stanford, St. Croix is an ideal place for our global management office. “The governing bodies of the USVI and the Virgin Islands Port Authority have been extremely helpful to us in developing our plan for long-term growth and investment in the Caribbean. They understand the needs of a multi-national company like Stanford.

Anyone who knows me knows of my passion for the Caribbean, and I’m delighted to be expanding our presence in the region to St. Croix,” he said.
